Step up to bring a Social Change.

As part of GNML (Global New Media lab)  Social Media for Social Change. I have learned how social media can not only be used to share pictures with friends and tell them how your weekend is going or just to make a reputation but instead it has a very good use of improving a society. One can raise his voice and reach out as many people as he can in just a few moments which was never as easy before.
I chose "Illiteracy" or awareness of education, as my Social Media Campaign to enlighten the people in my country from its advantages and the huge role it plays in the advancement of a nation. In order to imply my campaign, i will take a start from Facebook as, nowadays, it's very famous among the youth in my country and everyone is aware of it. i'll use my Facebook page to introduce my campaign to my friends, which i have already started, and have their support in it. It's very important to use something that people take interest in so Facebook seems the one that would be the best suitable. I am also planning to use Instagram as a tool for my campaign as I've known many people using it. A picture speaks thousand words. I'll share pictures to show how people suffer without education and how life changes with a single person getting educated in an illiterate family. Afterwards, when my campaign is introduced, using my facebook and instagram, I'll introduce my audience to Blog (which is not as common in my country) which is an incredible source of sharing information and facts about the world in a visual form. I'll share stories about people's life and their important relation to education. Furthermore, I'll let them know how it can be used significantly to bring a change.
Due to certain reasons, YouTube is banned in my country, even though, it's the most famous site around the world, so i'll use an alternative video website to share my videos based on people's life and personal experiences. Moving forward, Twitter is not as common in Pakistan, but using my Facebook page, Blog and Instagram, I'll introduce my friends to it and show them it's use and how it can greatly help solve the issue of our nation. I will follow people who have same thoughts as mine it will greatly help if I can get good support from the people using it. The same is with LinkedIn, it's a popular website for networking but on a professional level. I'll find people who are capable of bringing a change in a society. either a big change or small, and will help and have their support to spred my word to .

Financial Aid for education

An exciting and amazing news to hear regarding my campaign for illiteracy. Just came up, through Google Alerts with this news regarding Japan providing financial help to Pakistan for educational purpose. Japan provided 28 million rupees to three NGOs in Pakistan to build schools in areas which are lacking in education like Multan, Sawabi and muzaffarabad. It has also provided special facilities for girls education and awareness of education to senior citizens as the country is suffering from severe education critics. A step to Success

Here's another exciting post Google alerts provided me with. The government of Pakistan held a meeting with the Security and Exchange commission of Pakistan for the security and awareness of education in Pakistan. Meeting included discussions about financial problems related to illiteracy.
